The features are basic and easy to work.
This is the first gas range that we have bought and we are very happy with it so far. I don’t care for the sound of the gas being ignited every few minutes while the oven is on, but I am resigned to the fact that it is part of this range. I do like how quickly my food heats up compared to an electric range and would buy another gas range in the future if needed.

Okay, but could be better.
We’ve had this a few months now. It replaced a 25 year old Maytag 5770 range. I’d rather the hottest burners be at the rear, instead of having to reach over them, and typically the largest pots going, to stir gravy on the rear burner. I find the ignition of the oven as it cycles rather noisy. This is probably due to it being an instant light instead of the hot surface igniter of our old range. Overall, this is a much cheaper made range than our old one. Bottom drawer is small and inside edge is sharp. Burners are easy to clean if you have a spill or boil over. Don’t like that oven temp and timer aren’t shown at the same time, as on our old range. Having to press start every time you adjust temp is annoying. It works fine but could be better.

Good functionality but ...
We are pleased so far, with the functionality of the gas stove and particularly like the cast iron grill top. The middle burner is also good for the large canning pot. However, we are disappointed to find after the stove was installed that the paint on the stovetop was not done well on and you can see the grey metal through the paint on contoured edges.
The storage drawer at the bottom is also a little flimsy and not suitabe for heavier pans.

Functional disappointment.
Looks pretty good, cooks fine. So why am I giving it 60%? Well, I find it challenging to centre the pots on the cooking surface. The grids are not symmetrical, and it's counterintuitive to centre pots, especially larger ones. In addition, I find the electronic panel a little archaic. With no numerical touchpad, scanning to adjust time and delayed start are frustrating and primitive. Also, can't seem to use the kitchen timer without invariably cancelling the bake session. Also, I investigated purchasing a griddle for the oval burner, only to discover the offer was unavailable in my area. Sigh. Overall, I'm disappointed but concede that the flames cook the food.

Faulty Bake Ignitor
Faulty bake element ignitor. Needed to be replaced after 15 months and then again 6 months after that!
I am now resorting to buying a spare one just to have on hand when it goes again. Each time is a $85 part. Good thing I can install it myself.
Also not pleased with the strength of the oven racks. I kept the ones from my old Kenmore and put those in instead. Those ones could hold an elephant!
It does have super powerful top burners and no issue with those.
The top cleans up easy and the self clean option ...when the thing works... does a good job.

Avoid this range
I had my last Maytag gas range for 14 years. It was a workhorse that never let me down. I should have kept it and paid for the small repairs to keep it running. Instead I replaced it with this unit ten months ago and I have been extremely disappointed. After a few months of use the hinge on the right side of the door started catching and grinding to the point where the oven could only be opened on the left side. A Maytag technician replaced the door hinges and the door opened normally for a few months. Now the hinge on the right is catching and grinding again, making it difficult to open the door. That's not to mention that the burners sometimes work and sometimes they don't. Sometimes the smell of gas is so intense when the oven is started we have to leave the kitchen for ten minutes. Sometimes it's fine. This range is poorly constructed and unreliable.
