Closeout appliances have never been used, let alone purchased. They are discontinued and offered at a discounted price, similar to scratch & dent, until the inventory runs out. Refurbished appliances, on the other hand, have been purchased and returned. After being returned, they are cleaned, inspected and tested for defects before being listed for sale through the Maytag Certified Refurbished Program.

Refurbished and closeout appliances are sold under warranty, but each has distinct warranty terms that you should familiarize yourself with.

Closeout appliances are only available at the Maytag Appliance Outlet while supplies last. The stock is limited as these products are closeout models and no longer being produced. The selection of closeout appliances is regularly updated, and it’s common for models to sell out and for new ones to be added to the inventory.
